The Saints brought the heat at Favre and once again he couldn’t handle it as the Saints defeated the Vikings in the long awaited rematch. Drew Brees looked sharp in the opener completing 27 of 36 passes for 237 yards, and 1 touchdown. Although the Saints passed for most of the first half Pierre Thomas rushed for 74 yards, and 1 touchdown. The Saints opened the opener with a first drive touchdown. Brees hit 3 of 4 passes for 69 yards including a 29 yard touchdown pass to Devery Henderson. Then it was the Vikings turn. The Vikings led by Favre went on to score 9 unanswered in the 2nd quarter including a 20 yard touchdown pass to Visanthe Shiancoe. The Saints would block the extra point following the touchdown pass. At halftime it was 9-7. The second half the Saints scored the only points with a 1 yard touchdown run by Pierre Thomas in the 3rd quarter. The Final score ended up 14-9 in a pretty defensive game. The Saints would of had an easier time winning had the kicker Garrett Hartley not missed two fields. Hartley missed a 46 yard field goal in the 3rd, and 32 yard field goal in the 4th. *Note– Jonathan Vilma intercepted Brett Favre for the only turnover of the game in the 2nd quarter.
