MLB: White Sox acquire Manny Ramirez from the Dodgers
With Manny Ramirez sitting on the bench for the Dodgers, It was only how long till he was wearing a new jersey. The Dodgers really didn’t need Manny Ramirez with all the acquisitions they made. The Dodgers acquired Scott Podsednik in a trade, and added Jay Gibbons. They already have Matt Kemp, Andre Ethier, and Reed Johnson. Trading Manny shouldn’t affect them all too much, so this deal made sense at this time. Manny will pack his bags to go to the Chicago White Sox where he should have a fun time with Ozzie Guillen. Ramirez also adds power to the White Sox and will most likely be there Designated Hitter. The White Sox have too many starters at Outfield for Ramirez too crack an outfield spot. The Dodgers are pondering over whether to take prospect 3b Jon Gilmore and eat some of Ramirez’s contract or get cash. This will be Manny’s 4th team in his 17 seasons. Manny Ramirez is in his final year of his 2 year, $40 million. contract.
