Reaction: Not too many surprises in the rankings, but Boise State is definitely the biggest one at #3. First time that a non-BCS conference team was ranked in the Top 5 to start the season.

Another surprise is the absence of the Houston Cougars. They were formerly #25. The team is a high octane offense, lead by Heisman candidate QB Case Keenum. It will definitely be a struggle for him to win the Heisman with his team not being in the Top 25.
