MLB: Angels Acquire Dan Haren from the Diamondbacks
The Angels recently acquired Alberto Callaspo to boost the offense, now went and grabbed on of the prized pitchers of the trade deadline in Dan Haren. The Angels traded away P Joe Saunders, P Patrick Corbin, P Rafael Rodriguez, and a player to be named later who is expected to be Tyler Skaggs. Dan Haren was being thrown around in this trade deadline with reports mostly saying he was going to the New York Yankees. Shades of the Cliff Lee deal once again for the Yankees as they yet miss acquiring another ace pitcher to there staff. The Angels who recently loss Scott Kazmir to an injury, went out and acquired a good pitcher in Dan Haren. Haren has struggled this year but is by no means a bad pitcher. Angels should give the Rangers a run for there money for the division. On the other hand the Diamondbacks are in rebuilding mode I guess. Acquiring young pitchers that they hope can develop and become good big league pitchers. P Joe Saunders has faired alright in big leagues but is nothing special. His ERA is always in the mid 4’s, but does get the wins and thats what matters. The AL West is certainly bulking up there pitching staff with the Rangers acquiring Cliff Lee, and now the Angels acquiring Dan Haren.
