After losing Lebron James, the Cleveland Cavaliers have been actively hunting for some players. They tried prying Kyle Lowry away from the Houston Rockets by signing him to an offer sheet but almost instantly, the Houston Rockets matched the offer. Now they have there sights set on a couple of players. The Cavaliers are looking at the 14th overall pick in the 2006 draft G/F Ronnie Brewer. Brewer averaged 8.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.7 assist. Brewer is mostly noted for his solid defense. Another player on the Cavaliers radar is F Rasual Butler. Butler is a bit older at 31 but the last two seasons he has played every game. He also averaged 11 points or more both seasons. A solid contributer to any offense. Another player being targeted is G/F Antoine Wright. Wright has bounced around teams the last two years and is looking for a settle down spot. Last year Wright averaged 6.5 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.1 assist. He is more known to be a quality off the bench 3 point shooter. Lastly the Cavaliers are looking at G Flip Murray who has been on 7 teams since the 2005-2006 season. I’m sure he is going to look for a multi-year contract hoping to stick to a team. Murray averaged 9.9 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.8 assist. The Cavaliers lost Lebron James and Zydrunas Ilguaskas to the Heat. Shaquille O’Neal and Jawad Williams are still up for grabs but nothing is certain they will be back. They are looking for some mid-tier players since the high-tier players went before Lebron James made his decision. Delonte West is also being speculated to either be traded or released. The Cleveland Cavaliers are in dire need of something because they don’t want to be back to there old ways before Lebron James. Dan Gilbert will have more then letter making to do if he wants to keep this franchise on top. Reminiscence of the 2002-2003 season are lingering, 17-65…….gulp.
