Jose Lima aka Lima Time dies at 37

May 24, 2010

Jose Lima was an energetic and just outgoing person on the field. He was nice off the field as well asking kids as he signs autographs “what time is it” and kids would say “Lima Time”. He had a decent career going 89-102 with a 5.26 era and 980 strikeouts. His best season was in 1999. He was on the Houston Astros and he posted a 21 win season. He also posted a 3.58 era and had 187 strikeouts. A very dominating year and helped the Astros win the Central Division. He also made his first and only appearance as an All-Star that year. They would then lose to the Braves in the NLDS. The Braves were arguably the team of the 1990’s though. Lima legacy as the energetic funny guy baseball player will always live on.
