The Sport Report NFL Predictions: Week 12
Posted by KDog13 on November 27, 2011

*Too bad I didn’t get a chance to post my thanksgiving picks, I went 3-0*
——-
Buffalo Bills @ New York Jets
Score: Jets 23 – Bills 17
Spread: Bills (-7.5)
Note – Jets need a win here more then ever if they are going to make a run at the wildcard. As for the Bills there is still life but this is the last chance to pull it together. I see the Jets D being the factor in this game that brings the Jets a W.
Houston Texans @ Jacksonville Jaguars
Score: Texans 27 – Jaguars 13
Spread: Texans (-3.5)
Note – Matt Leinart begins his reign for the Texans against the Jaguars. A good enough defense to say this is a decent test. Leinart will be fine in my opinion and eventually clinch the division for the Texans. The Jaguars under utilize MJD (arguably there best player), and Gabbert hasn’t been aggressive at all. I see this as an easy win for the Texans, giving the ground game should pick up Leinart.
Minnesota Vikings @ Atlanta Falcons
Score: Falcons 31 – Vikings 17
Spread: Falcons (-8.5)
Note – The Vikings will be without AP which should define the game quick. No running game = predictable passing game. The Falcons should easily win this game given also that Julio is back.
Cleveland Browns @ Cincinnati Bengals
Score: Browns 23 – Bengals 20
Spread: Browns (+7.5)
Note – I think this could be a trap game for the Bengals. The Browns although rather boring, tend to keep games close and competitive. While Dalton has looked good, he is prone to mistakes which I believe will cost the Bengals the game.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Tennessee Titans
Score: Buccaneers 24 – Titans 23
Spread: Bucs (+2.5)
Note – Both teams need a win desperately here, and I believe it will come down to the 4th quarter. I’ll give the edge to Josh Freeman, who will add another 4th quarter victory to his stats.
Carolina Panthers @ Indianapolis Colts
Score: Panthers 34 – Colts 13
Spread: Panthers (-3.5)
Note – Should be a blowout here and a day for Cam Newton to have enough highlights to make movie.
Arizona Cardinals @ St. Louis Rams
Score: Cardinals 20 – Rams 17
Spread: Cardinals (+2.5)
Note – Skelton gets the nod again after his poor performance last week. He has seen the Rams before and seemed to have figured them out in the 4th. I expect a close game but the edge going to the Cardinals and Patrick Peterson.
Chicago Bears @ Oakland Raiders
Score: Bears 25 – Raiders 23
Spread: Bears (+4.5)
Note – Although Hanie is now in for Jay Cutler, I still think the Bears are a good team. If Hanie can limit his turnovers, they should be fine. The defense will be a headache for Carson and ultimately help take down the Raiders.
New England Patriots @ Philadelphia Eagles
Score: Eagles 30 – Patriots 23
Spread: Eagles (+4.5)
Note – The Eagles have a good shot here being that the Patriots defense is one of the worst. If the Eagles can get strong linebacker, I think they can stop Brady enough to win. As long as they watched what the Chiefs did to Brady early, they can build off that.
Washington Redskins @ Seattle Seahawks
Score: Seahawks 27 – Redskins 19
Spread: Seahawks (-4.5)
Note – I like the Hawks at Quest field in this one. They are certainly coming together as of late and are either winning or keeping it close. As for the Skins although they battled last week, I’m not sure they will keep that up given Grossman’s track record.
Denver Broncos @ San Diego Chargers
Score: Chargers 35 – Broncos 23
Spread: Chargers (-3.5)
Note – Chargers need a win more then ever. They will face off against Tebow who is 4-1 as a starter this year. They need to pressure Tebow and make him throw, throw throw. Let his arm beat you, not his feet. The Chargers will get a big game from Rivers, who I believe is due.
Pittsburgh Steelers @ Kansas City Chiefs
Score: Steelers 37 – Chiefs 10
Spread: Steelers (-9.5)
Note – This should be utter domination, with known reasons why.
New York Giants @ New Orleans Saints
Score: Saints 34 – Giants 23
Spread: Saints (-6.5)
Note – I think Jimmy Graham is in for a huge night, he will be the X Factor in this game. I think the Saints offense presents problems for the Gians lb’s and rather weak depth at cornerback.

The Sport Report NFL Power Rankings: Week 12
Posted by KDog13 on November 24, 2011
1.
Green Bay Packers (10-0) (Even) The Packers are rolling but will face there toughest test to date as they visit the Lions on Thanksgiving.
2.
San Francisco 49ers (9-1) (Even) – Along with the Packers, the 49ers will also face there toughest test as they face the Ravens in a playoff atmosphere type game.
3.
New Orleans Saints (7-3) (Even) – These next two games will be a test to the Saints , after that the schedule is a Bree’s with the exception of the Falcons.
4.
Pittsburgh Steelers (7-3) (Even) – The Steelers D should enjoy the Chiefs just as much as the Patriots D did.
5.
Baltimore Ravens (7-3) (Even) – Impressive win but I fell like every week I’m saying impressive or terrible. Anyways, big showdown for the Ravens as they welcome in the 9-1 49ers.
6.
Houston Texans (7-3) (Even) – Leinart will have a good practice game to welcome him back as a starter in the Jaguars. Also Andre Johnson returning is a boost.
7.
New England Patriots (7-3) (+1) – A nice win, and better yet a game against the all injured team Chiefs is next.
8.
Chicago Bears (7-3) (+1) – With Cutler out for the regular season, can Hanie save the Bears from falling out of the Wildcard?
9.
Detroit Lions (7-3) (+1) – It was a shootout but the Lions came out with the much needed win. The Packers visit on Thanksgiving and given the implication….sh*t just got real.
10.
Dallas Cowboys (6-4) (+4) – A closer game than thought against the Skins but a win no less. Now a chance to further build momentum with a win over the recently hot Dolphins.
11.
New York Giants (6-4) (-4) – The next few games don’t get any easier for the G Men, Saints and Packers.
12.
Atlanta Falcons (6-4) (+1) Still stick around and will have a favorable matchup against the Vikings. After that, a game with plenty of implication, the Texans.
13.
Oakland Raiders (6-4) (+2) – The Raiders are starting to put wins together in the most opportune time.
14.
New York Jets (5-5) (-3) - They just got Tebow’d, wonder what Rex Ryan will do to keep his Super Bowl champion Jets squad from falling under 500.
15.
Cincinnati Bengals (6-4) (-1) – While they are competitive, they still haven’t beaten a team of significance besides the recent downward spiraling Bills.
16.
Denver Broncos (5-5) (+2) – Tebow is 4-1 as a starter, and had an amazing 94 yard drive where he did it all.
17.
Buffalo Bills (5-5) (-1) – Like I said last week “This is starting to remind of the old Bills. Fast start…collapsing end”.
18.
Tennessee Titans (5-5) (-1) If anyone saw Jake Locker’s outing, there’s a reason to have hope. But, all that dies if Hasselbeck starts.
19.
Seattle Seahawks (4-6) (+3) – Seahawks are making a quiet run.
20.
Philadelphia Eagles (4-6) (+4) – A solid win, they need to keep rolling the table.
21.
Kansas City Chiefs (4-6) (-2) – They claimed Orton a week to late as this week they face the Steelers which should have them at 4-7.
22.
San Diego Chargers (4-6) (-2) – An I quote “This team can’t buy a win”.
23.
Cleveland Browns (4-6) (+3) – Browns could very well be 5-5, but then again could very well be 3-7..maybe worse.
24.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-6) (-3) – A season that had hope, died quickly.
25.
Miami Dolphins (3-7) (+3) – On a 3 win streak and face the Cowboys…can they get 4?
26.
Arizona Cardinals (3-7) (-3) – A horrible outing by Skelton, but an impressive one in relief by Bartel.
27.
Washington Redskins (3-7) (-2) – Battled but came up short.
28.
Jacksonville Jaguars (3-7) (-1) – I just dont see why you dont give the ball to your best player….MJD!!!!
29.
St. Louis Rams (2-8) (Even) – The looked terrible, in a very very winnable game.
30.
Minnesota Vikings (2-8) (-5) – To me there is no difference to the Vikings without AP…it’s not like they run him enough….
31.
Carolina Panthers (2-8) (Even) – A shootout but a game they had but if they keep this up….Smith n Blackmon for Cam would be exciting.
32.
Indianapolis Colts (0-10) (Even) – The question is Luck or Peyton?

The Sport Report NFL Predictions: Week 11
Posted by KDog13 on November 20, 2011

Buffalo Bills @ Miami Dolphins
Score: Dolphins 23 – Bills 20
Spread: Dolphins (-2.5)
Note – I think the Dolphins are going to ride the recent momentum and beat the downward spiraling Bills. It should be a close game though given both teams are sporting backup kickers.
Jacksonville Jaguars @ Cleveland Browns
Score: Jaguars 20 – Browns 13
Spread: Jaguars (+0.5)
Note – Should be a rather uneventful game with the Jaguars winning
Oakland Raiders @ Minnesota Vikings
Score: Raiders 27 – Vikings 23
Spread: Raiders (+1.5)
Note – I think the Raiders should have this game but apparently the odds makers think the Vikings do. I think it will be close but Carson will get his second win.
Cincinnati Bengals @ Baltimore Ravens
Score: Ravens 26 – Bengals 13
Spread: Ravens (-7.5)
Note – Should be a good division rival battle but I think the defense of the Ravens will absolutely blanket Dalton. Ravens should take this game but the Bengals will be feisty.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Green Bay Packers
Score: Packers 34 – Buccaneers 23
Spread: Bucs (-13.5)
Note – The Packers probably have this game in the bag but I expect a desperate Bucs team to keep it close.
Carolina Panthers @ Detroit Lions
Score: Panthers 33 – Lions 31
Spread: Panthers (+6.5)
Note – I expect a shootout, and I’m going with Cam here. I wasn’t impressed last week with the Panthers but what I saw from the Lions last week was just as bad. I think Cam puts on a show here.
Dallas Cowboys @ Washington Redskins
Score: Cowboys 34 – Redskins 17
Spread: Cowboys (-7.5)
Note – After seeing the whooping the Boys laid on the Bills, I think they do it again against the Skins. The Skins just lost to the Dolphins and looked dreadful. They have been on a downward fall, and it will continue Sunday.
Atlanta Falcons Tennessee Titans
Score: Falcons 37 – Titans 20
Spread: Falcons (-5.5)
Note – I have a feeling the Falcons are going to put a smackdown on the Titans. Just a feeling…
Arizona Cardinals @ San Francisco 49ers
Score: 49ers 20 – Cardinals 13
Spread: Cardinals (+9.5)
Note – 49ers usually don’t blow out there opponents but they do win, and I believe they will win again. It will be a close game though, and Zona could well upset them.
Seattle Seahawks @ St. Louis Rams
Score: Rams 23 – Seahawks 19
Spread: Rams (-2.5)
Note – A lucky win for the Rams, and a solid win for the Seahawks. I think the Rams pull this one out though given that it’s not in Quest Field.
San Diego Chargers @ Chicago Bears
Score: Bears 27 – Chargers 23
Spread: Bears (-3.5)
Note – The Bears have just been so solid of late and will continue there winning ways in my opinion. It should be a good game, as I believe the Chargers will play desperate.
Philadelphia Eagles @ New York Giants
Score: Eagles 23 – Giants 22
Spread: Eagles (+3.5)
Note – This is the Eagles last chance, and with Vick + Maclin out it will be tough. I don’t know why I think the Eagles will pull this one out to be honest. I just feel the Giants will make too many mistakes, and the Eagles will capatalize.
Kansas City Chiefs @ New England Patriots
Score: Patriots 27 – Chiefs 23
Spread: Chiefs (+15.5)
Note – This is an “easy” game for the Patriots with Tyler Palko starting for the Chiefs. I think it could very well be a trap game but I won’t pick the Chiefs based on Tom Brady. I think were in for a better MNF then most think.

Danny Castillo def. Shamar Bailey by TKO (punches) Round 1 (4:52)
———————————————————————————
UFC 139 Prediction Results: I was 245-169-4 coming in, and did amazing. This was one of the best cards the UFC has ever had. The main event lived up to the hype and way more then that. It was the Fight of the Year, and possibly the Best Fight Ever. It certainly was the best fight I ever seen. Anyways, some thoughts. Henderson and Rua are warriors, the Cung Le vs Silva fight ended in a bad stoppage, Faber rebounded and looked great doing it, and the other 2 fights starting out excited and dulled down. Still an amazing night. Overall, I went 10-2 and I am now 255-172-4… my winning percentage rises to 60%

The Sport Report NFL Power Rankings: Week 11
Posted by KDog13 on November 17, 2011
1.
Green Bay Packers (9-0) (Even) Who can beat the Packers?
2.
San Francisco 49ers (8-1) (Even) – Whoever saw the 49ers as this dangerous, pat yourself on the back.
3.
New Orleans Saints (7-3) (+1) – The Saints are becoming the more consistent team and clear cut division winner in the NFC South.
4.
Pittsburgh Steelers (7-3) (+2) – A good win over a game Bengals team. With the Ravens playing inconsistent it’s time for the Steelers to cause some separation.
5.
Baltimore Ravens (6-3) (-2) – I can figure this team out, it’s easier to solve a riddle then the Ravens.
6.
Houston Texans (7-3) (+2) – Just when the Texans looked like destined playoff contenders, Schaub goes down. Leinart should be able to get them to clinch but can he lead them further?
7.
New York Giants (6-3) (-2) – A tough loss especially how close they were to scoring at the end, several times.
8.
New England Patriots (6-3) (+2) – A nice win, and better yet a game against the all injured team Chiefs is next.
9.
Chicago Bears (6-3) (+3) – Another solid win, Daaa Bearssss are starting to come alive.
10.
Detroit Lions (6-3) (-3) – Things aren’t looking so good now but the Panthers are next, a winnable game.
11.
New York Jets (5-4) (-2) - They battled but in the end the Patriots bettered them again.
12.
Dallas Cowboys (5-4) (+4) – Absolutely tore the Bills apart, and now have a chance to repeat against the Skins.
13.
Atlanta Falcons (5-4) (-2) Had a chance to get a battle going in the NFC South but came up short.
14.
Cincinnati Bengals (6-3) (-1) – They played better than I thought and I applaud that. In order to stay in the mix, a win over the Ravens is much needed.
15.
Oakland Raiders (5-4) (Even) – Carson’s first win as a Raider, this should jump start the Raiders.
16.
Buffalo Bills (5-4) (-2) – This is starting to remind of the old Bills. Fast start…collapsing end.
17.
Tennessee Titans (5-4) (+3) Salvaged the season and with Schaub now out there is a glimmer of hope.
18.
Denver Broncos (4-5) (+5) – Tebow is 3-1 as a starter, kid just knows how to win.
19.
Kansas City Chiefs (4-5) (-2) – How do you lose to a quarterback that you limited to 2 completions?
20.
San Diego Chargers (4-5) (-2) – This team can’t buy a win.
21.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-5) (-3) – Let the woes continue, up next: Packers.
22.
Seattle Seahawks (3-6) (+8) – Huge win, huge movement up the rankings.
23.
Arizona Cardinals (3-6) (+4) – Two nice wins in a row. Although it clear the 49ers have the division, it’s nice to see Skelton managing to win games.
24.
Philadelphia Eagles (3-6) (-3) – There is no more room for losing.
25.
Washington Redskins (3-6) (-3) – After appearing like a contender, they have far removed themselves from even mid tier.
26.
Cleveland Browns (3-6) (-2) – Should of won but things like this happen when you settle for only field goals.
27.
Jacksonville Jaguars (3-6) (+1) – A decent win, nothing overly exciting except for the defense.
28.
Miami Dolphins (2-7) (+3) – 2 wins in a row? Starting to build momentum but lets not get crazy.
29.
St. Louis Rams (2-7) (Even) – Lucky to win, nuff said.
30.
Minnesota Vikings (2-7) (-5) – The Packers made the Vikings look like a high school football team.
31.
Carolina Panthers (2-7) (-5) – A winnable game, and you’d think Cam would have a strong day. That sore shoulder must of bothered him.
32.
Indianapolis Colts (0-9) (Even) – I’m not sure Painter is capable of getting the Colts a win this season, time to call Timmy off the Couch.

Thursday Night Game Prediction
Posted by KDog13 on November 17, 2011
Prediction
A game that has big implications. For the Jets, they need a win to keep up with the Patriots whose schedule is amongst the easiest left. For the Broncos, the division is very much open. A win not only puts Tebow at a 4-1 record on the season but a game back from the division.
The Jets are coming off a tough loss against the Patriots, and have lost both meeting to the division leader. A win is essential here if they want a chance at the division. Much more see-able is a wild card spot which is very much there’s for the taking. They just need to keep winning, and a game like this is very winnable.
The Broncos are now running on full steam coming back into the division spotlight. Even more crazy was Tebow only completing 2 passes, and still managing to win in last weeks game against the Chiefs. Now a big chance at home to take down the Jets, has presented itself to Tebow and the Broncos. Tebow will need to complete more then two passes though if they want to win as this Jets defense is fierce. As long as he doesn’t throw it near Revis there is hope.
Prediction Upset: Broncos 24 – Jets 23

The Sport Report NFL Predictions: Week 10
Posted by KDog13 on November 13, 2011

Buffalo Bills @ Dallas Cowboys
Score: Cowboys 23 – Bills 17
Spread: Cowboys (-5.5)
Note – Should be a good game but I think the Boys defense will hold steady against the Bills.
Jacksonville Jaguars @ Indianapolis Colts
Score: Jaguars 20 – Colts 13
Spread: Jaguars (-3.5)
Note – Should be a sloppy game but I think in the end the Jaguars will come out on top.
St. Louis Rams @ Cleveland Browns
Score: Browns 16 – Rams 13
Spread: Browns (-2.5)
Note – The Rams are banged up, Browns aren’t all that special either….should be a field goal game with the advantage going to the home team.
New Orleans Saints @ Atlanta Falcons
Score: Saints 27 – Falcons 23
Spread: Saints (-0.5)
Note – A great game with so much on the line. A win for the Saints here will give them some separation in the division. As for the Falcons, a win sets up a division war down the stretch. I got the Saints, with Bree’s being the edge.
Houston Texans @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Score: Texans 24 – Buccaneers 17
Spread: Texans (-3.5)
Note – The Buccaneers have been too inconsistent this year to pick. I like the Texans ground game to take this game over.
Denver Broncos @ Kansas City Chiefs
Score: Chiefs 24 – Broncos 20
Spread: Chiefs (-3.5)
Note – Chiefs although missing out on taking over first place, I think have a nice bounce back game here. Not an Easy one but I think the Chiefs defense will pressure Tebow into a few mistakes.
Washington Redskins @ Miami Dolphins
Score: Dolphins 27 – Redskins 13
Spread: Dolphins (-3.5)
Note – Even though they are 1-7, I think they should beat up on the Skins. The QB issue in D.C. is too much for this team that started out with so much promise. Look for the QB issues to continue for the Skins as they swap Beck for Grossman at some point.
Tennessee Titans @ Carolina Panthers
Score: Panthers 30 – Titans 13
Spread: Panthers (-2.5)
Note – I think the Panthers will blow them out as long as Cam’s shoulder is good to go.
Arizona Cardinals @ Philadelphia Eagles
Score: Eagles 24 – Cardinals 13
Spread: Cardinals (+13.5)
Note – Eagles should win this game but I don’t think they will win by 14.
Pittsburgh Steelers @ Cincinnati Bengals
Score: Steelers 31 – Bengals 17
Spread: Steelers (-3.5)
Note – If the Bengals want to show they are truly a good team, this is the time. unfortunately I think otherwise. I think Dalton will get eaten up by the swarming D.
New York Giants @ San Francisco 49ers
Score: Giants 20 – 49ers 17
Spread: Giants (+3.5)
Note – I expect a dog fight with the Giants winning. I think that if the Giants can contain Gore, they got this game. As for the 49ers defense, it’s one of the best. But, I think Eli can muster up some points on them to win.
Baltimore Ravens @ Seattle Seahawks
Score: Ravens 24 – Seahawks 6
Spread: Ravens (-7.5)
Note – The Ravens should decisively beat them, even at Quest Field.
Detroit Lions @ Chicago Bears
Score: Bears 23 – Lions 17
Spread: Bears (-0.5)
Note – After seeing what they did against the Eagles, I truly believe the Bears will beat the Lions. The offense was so smooth, and it seems the O Line is finally coming together at the right time.
New England Patriots @ New York Jets
Score: Jets 25 – Patriots 23
Spread: Jets (-1.5)
Note – The Jets are all fueled up, and the Patriots are losing steam. I’ll ride the momentum for this game.
Minnesota Vikings @ Green Bay Packers
Score: Packers 34 – Vikings 24
Spread: Vikings (+13.5)
Note – I think it will be a better game then most people think but in the end Rodgers will prove to be to good as usual.
